Guitar Hero 5 may have just been unleashed upon the world on the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360, however over on the “portable” side of things, Activisions popular “Guitar Hero World Tour Mobile” arrived on the N-Gage platform a few weeks ago, and at the moment is getting mixed “attention”.
The difference between the standard mobile phone version and the N-Gage version of the game is that the N-Gage version features full 2 minute “MP3 Styled” Audio quality, unlike its standard mobile phone counter-part (and Gamelofts “Guitar Rock” franchise) that use low quality Midi tones that sometimes sound nothing like the song your supposed to be playing.
Other features include N-Gage Achievement Points (NGP) and online scoreboards for each individual song for each instrument, in this case being Guitar and Drums.
Playing the game is simple enough as keypad numbers 1,4,7 are used for the Green Note, 2,5,8 are used for the Red note and 3,6,9 are used for the Yellow note, the drums bass pedal is hit by pressing 0 on the keypad and to activate star power you can either “shake the phone” (only available on certain handsets such as N96) or press the “center” button in the middle of your d-pad.
In terms of graphics, the game is very similar to the standard mobile phone version, except a few slight improvements on the background and characters, but the difference can sometimes be un-noticable. But you can decide for youself as below are two “gameplay” videos i made earlier.
Sorry about the small screen on the drums video i had to record it a different way.
So what do you think about the game? Does it take your fancy? and is it worth 6 GBP?, because i think it is worth it – but then again im abit of a Guitar Hero fanatic! Enjoy the videos!
