Nokia C7 on Google Web Search App Widget for web (1)The Android and other phones have the feature to make Google as default search engine app or window that is dedicated on their homescreen widget function for easy and fast web search access. I’m not sure if the feature that I’ve just found on the Nokia N8 and Nokia C7, and the rest of Symbian^3 devices is new, but I’m sure it’s kinda similar to what some people want. And at least I have the idea now on how to get a direct web search on my web and homescreen.

In order to turn on the web search function in your Symbian web browser and homescreen you must first use or select the feature via web browser settings. 1.) By using the search function for the first time, it would pop up and ask you if what is your preferred web search provider and it will leave you a two choice between Google and Bing. Also you could set up the region or country that your search engine would based on. 2.) Another way to open it by going to the Web Browser Settings>General>Web Search Provider.

Easy, right? But how about putting it on your homescreen?

For the homescreen widget, just simple long tap or manually choose the edit homescreen and add the Search widget. The photo below depicts on how does it looks like in your homescreen. So I hope I’ve helped you on this one. :)
