A few thoughts on Symbian and the Nokia N97

A few thoughts on symbian header

At the moment I am an owner of a Nokia N97. I have been a Nokia user for many years and among other handsets, I owned an N95 with which I was very pleased actually. When I received the N97, I felt the N97 to be an improvement nevertheless.

Sadly, my N97 has continuous stability problems and it just doesn’t seem to work, although it was in repair two times now. This seems not to be a general N97-issue. In this particular case, there seems to be a hardware defect somewhere deep inside the device and the Nokia Care Point just isn’t able to locate it.

I took this for a reason to take a look around and check out the hot and new devices on the market:

N96 and N78 exclusive hands-on

I finally managed to get my hands-on these fabulous devices and ask few questions on this and that. I’ve compared the N96, N78, N82 black, N95 8GB, and the N81 8GB. It took some effort to present the differences, and I managed to get everyone staring at me like I was a maniac.

Nseries devices have become little computers. There are almost no things, you can’t do with an Nseries device. Therefore I’ve tested them, just like others test their computers. I have downloaded SPmark for Symbian OS v9, installed it and turned the devices off. After 10 minutes I turned them on ( N95, N82, N81 8GB, N95 8GB and N73ME) and started the benchmark. Here are the results of each device(screenshot). Besides the screenshot and the device name, you can see the best score, I ever scored with this device, for exaple N95 ( 6881).

What you can see is,the more RAM the device has the higher the score gets. If you want to test your device visit Futuremark. My best score was 6881.What was your best score? Post it!

Here the scores:
