OtterBox Commuter Series for the Nokia E71

As some of you are probably aware, I currently use the Nokia E71 and its slim design is one of the key aspects that’s kept me clutching on to it. Recently I’ve been searching for a decent case to protect my device but have been worried that it may add too much bulk and therefore ruin the aesthetics of the device. I looked at quite a few but one that caught my eye was the OtterBox Commuter Series for the Nokia E71. Now although it’s quite rugged for my needs, I thought it was pretty cool and thought I’d give it a mention. Check out my thoughts after the break…

Vlingo for S60 3rd& 5th Edition: Use Your Phone With the Power of Your Voice

Have you been wondering why there are more and more people talking to their phones? Giving their devices orders like: “send SMS to Norman, message hello how are you?” or “open File Manager.” Vlingo Corporation has launched their voice application, Vlingo, which allows user to instantly send a text messages and emails, call contacts, search the Web, create a “note to self” and much more, simply by speaking to your compatible S60 device. The service is available for free but can also be upgraded to a Plus Version. However, I’ll come back to both these versions later on. First I want to explain how to get Vlingo and how it works.

Spb Software just released an application called Spq TV. Spb TV is a highly usable IP-TV solution, optimized to run on S60 devices such as the 5800 XpressMusic, E63 , N95 and more. Spb TV provides users with lots of channels in multiple languages with easy-to-use features and settings. This software costs $14.95 but is also available as a trial version offering you a limited amount of channels. The full version offers more than 100 TV channels around the world. The spectrum of language and TV channels is really big. From English, German, Russian, Spanish to sport, news, whether, cartoon, religion it almost offers everything.The channels run smoothly on WiFI and 3G connection. However, if you don’t have a data plan you shouldn’t use this application via 3G or EDGE as this charge your phone bill excessively

Introducing Nokia Easy Meet

Nokia Easy Meet just had been introduced by Nokia Beta Labs.Nokia Easy Meet is an intuitive mobile collaboration tool that allows for real-time sharing of content using mobile devices as well as PCs. The service is extremely easy to use. In fact, no software download is required for any device. All you need is access to an Internet browser. From either a PC or a mobile device, the user simply has to enter the Nokia Easy Meet URL and then create a meeting. The service supports regularly scheduled as well as ad hoc meetings. Once you create a meeting, the service sends out an email and/or SMS to each participant. With just one click, each participant can join the meeting and view the content shared by the host. Content can come directly from the host’s device or from remote servers (via OVI Files). Unlike many other web-based collaboration tools, Nokia Easy Meet allows mobile devices users to fully participate in the service. Mobile device users can see, interact with, and share content directly on or from the device. By providing complete functionality to mobile devices, mobile participants aren’t at a disadvantage in the meeting setting.

Nokia E71x, E75, Comes With Music & the Ovi Store at CTIA 2009

The folks over at Nokia Conversations really do a great job. Although most of us coulnd’t make it to CTIA 2009 in Las Vegas they bring us the latest news and products in excellent video-clips. This time they show us an interview with David Petts, Vice President and GM at AT&T who talks about the E71x. Next on is Hugo Hernandez, Head of Achieve Marketing for Americas, who gives us a look at Nokia’s latest pair of Eseries devices.  Adam Mirabella is Director of Global Digital Music Retail for Nokia gives us some information about Comes With Music.  Last but not least George Linardos, Vice President of Product Management at Nokia, gives us a quick walk-through of the upcoming Ovi Store.
